How to Use the EQUIPT Ubarre and Uwraps in 2026: Grips, One-Minute Moves and Care Tips

The kettle clicks on. You have about ninety seconds, and a steel U-shaped weight is sitting on the counter where you left it on purpose. Pick it up, press it overhead until the water boils, put it back.
That's the whole idea behind EQUIPT (Equipt Movement): weights pretty enough to leave out, so moving becomes something you do between everything else. But a weight with no handle can look puzzling the first time you hold it. So we read the brand's FAQ, its Workouts page and founder Kodi Kitchen Berg's Minute Moves series on equiptmovement.com on October 24, 2026, and turned it into a plain-English guide to using the Ubarre and Uwraps from day one.

Who This Guide Is For
It's for new Ubarre owners staring at a beautiful object and wondering where to grip, for anyone deciding between weights before buying, and for people who like the idea of short "exercise snacks" more than hour-long sessions. Everything here comes from EQUIPT's own pages. We don't add claims the brand doesn't make.
Step 1: Choose a Weight You Can Control
Every Ubarre is one continuous piece of solid steel, weighted with metal rather than sand so nothing shifts or leaks, and every weight measures the same 11 by 14 inches. It comes in 4, 8, 12 and 16 pounds, in Black, Gold, Charcoal, White and Bronze, for $175 each.
- New to strength work: EQUIPT suggests starting at 4 or 8 pounds.
- Already training regularly: 12 pounds is the common starting point; 16 is the heaviest it makes.
For Uwraps ($68 for the 1.5 lb pair, $74 for 3 lb), the brand's advice is simple. Pick 1.5 lb if you want to wear them for long stretches, through a flow, a walk or a normal day; that's the pair most people buy first. Pick 3 lb for shorter, more deliberate sessions or if you already own the lighter pair.
Step 2: Learn the Four Ways to Hold a Ubarre
The open U is the secret. EQUIPT describes the Ubarre as a dumbbell, a kettlebell, a Pilates ring and a yoga block in one, depending on your grip:
- Like a dumbbell: hold it by one side for single-arm presses and curls.
- Like a kettlebell: grip the curve and swing it.
- Like a Pilates ring: hold it by both sides for inner-thigh and chest work, or press it overhead in a barre sequence.
- Like a yoga block: set it down for support in a seated stretch.
You can also thread both hands through the U, hold it at your chest or take it overhead, grips a fixed dumbbell handle won't allow. Kodi came out of the barre studio world, and the brand says she built the shape around those movements.

Step 3: Start With Three One-Minute Moves
In its Minute Moves series (published October 15, 2026), EQUIPT suggests one song or sixty seconds per move, with whichever Ubarre is nearest and a weight you can control for the full minute. Three easy openers:
Seated press and lean. Sit tall with your legs long and press the Ubarre straight up. Lean back a little at a time until your abs start working, then come back up. Repeat until the song ends. The brand lists shoulders, arms and core.
Kneeling press out. Kneel tall with knees under hips and hold the Ubarre upright by both sides at chest height. Press it straight out until your arms are long, pause, pull it back. Keep your ribs down. Add a pillow on tile.

Lunge and hold. Put your Uwraps on and hold the Ubarre at your chest. Step one foot back, lower until both knees bend, then push through the front heel to stand. Alternate legs for the minute; the Uwraps make that back leg work harder on the way up.
To make it stick, EQUIPT suggests pinning the move to something you already do, like coffee brewing, and counting snacks rather than minutes.
Step 4: Wear Your Uwraps the Right Way
Uwraps are vegan leather made from post-consumer water bottles, with commercial-grade velcro and military-grade stitching. The same pair fits wrists or ankles, and the closure adjusts across a wide range.
- Start with 20 to 30 minutes and build from there.
- Wear them for walking, stretching, Pilates, barre or floor work.
- Don't run in them. EQUIPT says so plainly.
- Take them off if your form changes or your stride shortens.
EQUIPT also notes they add resistance to movement you're already doing and aren't a replacement for progressive strength training. If you have a joint condition or are pregnant or postpartum, the brand asks you to check with a professional before adding load.

Step 5: Go Longer With Follow-Along Classes
When a minute turns into ten, the Workouts page has short classes built for one Ubarre, a pair of Uwraps and the floor you already have. Titles include the 7-Minute Ubarre Arm Workout, a 9 Minute Lower Body Burn, an 11 Minute Full Body Strength session, a 10 Minute Pilates Workout and a 10 Minute Yoga Flow.
Step 6: Leave It Out (Really)
The design is the strategy. EQUIPT made the Ubarre for the shelf, the coffee table or the console, as a visual nudge within arm's reach. A single Ubarre and a lined-up set of four look equally deliberate because every weight is the same size.

Everything You Need to Get Started

Prices change often; the brand's site always shows the current price.
Quick math on the kit: four Ubarres at $175 each plus a 1.5 lb pair of Uwraps would come to $768 bought one by one, so the $520 Ultimate Kit works out $248 lower.
Keep Them Looking New
| Piece | How to clean | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Ubarre | Normal soap and water, then dry it | Leaving it wet |
| Uwraps | Wipe with a damp cloth, air dry fully before storing | Machine washing, soaking, dryers, radiators |
| Uwraps, deeper clean | Uwrap Cleaning Spray ($12.99), eucalyptus and mastiha scent | Storing them damp |
Ubarre and Uwraps FAQ
Can I use the Ubarre for Pilates, barre or yoga?
Yes. EQUIPT says that's largely how it was designed to be used: as a Pilates ring for inner-thigh and chest work, a block in a seated stretch, an overhead press in barre or a kettlebell-style swing.
Can one pair of Uwraps go on wrists and ankles?
Yes. The same pair works on either, and one size fits most wrists and ankles.
How much is shipping?
Standard U.S. shipping is free on orders over $100 and a $9.99 flat rate at or under $100, so any Ubarre ships free. Orders usually leave the Los Angeles studio in 1 to 2 business days, then take 3 to 7 business days to arrive. International orders are a $49 flat rate.
What if I picked the wrong weight?
EQUIPT will exchange the weight or color within 30 days of delivery if the item is unused and in its original packaging. Returns follow the same 30-day window; return shipping is on you unless the item is faulty.
The Bottom Line
Using a Ubarre takes about a minute to learn: pick a weight you can control, try the four grips, then stack a few one-song moves into your day. Add 1.5 lb Uwraps if you'd like your walks and stretches to count for a little more, and keep the weight where you'll see it. If you know you'll want the full range, the Ultimate Kit is the smarter buy. Before you check out, visit the EQUIPT deals page to see today's codes.
